Normatec can be used for any orthopedic injury or condition that is causing swelling such as ligament sprains, muscle strains, arthritis, tendonitis, etc.
-
You first put on the sleeves for your legs, arms, or hips and then attach them to the device. The sleeves will then fill up with air and increase in pressure, starting furthest from the heart and gradually working its way towards the heart. It will then repeat this cycle for the duration of your treatment.
-
You will feel a strong pressure as the device fills up with air. This pressure may be slightly uncomfortable but shouldn’t be painful. There are 7 adjustable levels of compression so you can set it at a level that is most comfortable for you.
-
The treatment will last 15-30 minutes depending on your provider’s recommendation and your preference.
-
The self pay price is $40, but if you are receiving physical therapy or chiropractic treatment it can be added onto your treatment and billed through insurance.
